Ive started walking every morning first thing when I wake up (put my hair up in bobble, pull my jogging bottoms on and slip into a t-shirt and walk out the door) for around 20mins.
Should I walk longer?
Keep in mind, I have to get on the school bus at around 7.45, and Ill need time to wash and dress and straighten hair.
What you’re doing is absolutely fine!! I have a family friend, believe it or not, who did the exact same thing you’re doing…and she lost about 30 pounds. And she still eats a lot.
The morning time is usuallly when you’re metabolism is working at its fullest, so chances are, when you excerize then, the extra fat starts burning off quicker.
Just keep in mind this only works if you eat breakfast each day. And only if you’re walking at a brisk motion.
Good luck!

2009 Jul 06 1yes i think you should walk longer and more intensity if you can…don’t walk—RUN RUN RUN.
and its better to wake up at 5:30 am then jog/walk/run for 30 to 40 minutes…then voila…you still have time to change and relax

2009 Jul 06 3No, that’s fine to start out. If you happen to get up earlier and have more time to walk, then take advantage of it! Since you’re limited in time, what you should do is try to walk a little faster each week. Maybe work up to jogging and then running after a while. Keep up the good work!

2009 Jul 06 4anything that gets you sweaty and out of breath for around 20 minutes will impact on your weight, so don’t worry about it. at first a brisk walk will do this, but it won’t have the same effect in a months’ time, so you’ll have to up your routine to faster walking or running.
Good luck!

2009 Jul 06 5Walking, believe it or not, burns more calories then running, walking 20 mins in the morning is a good start but you should gradually get up a little earlier and go five minutes more at a time and make sure you drink water to stay hydrated =]

2009 Jul 06 6For it to be effective, you should walk for at least two hours, or take jogs. That will burn more calories for you.
