I am eating 1200 calories per day, and then doing 2 hours of cardio to burn at least 500 calories.
how many weeks should it take before I can SEE results (not on the scale, but on my body?)
I am only 4’11" and 98 pounds, so I don’t need to eat as much as bigger people
thanks Vincent, thats the exact staregy I use- my BMI is 1200, so I subtract 500 each day and it should equal a pound per week lost.
In two or three months, you’ll see the results when your clothes are too big and baggy!
Each pound of fat reserves is 3,500 calories.
You would lose one pound of fat reserves every week.
But then you would (hopefully) gain some muscle mass.
You need to do some weight training, not just cardios.
Cardios would just burn some fat reserves but weight training would really built muscle mass for a higher metabolism.
Muscle mass takes 3 times less space than fat reserves, so you get thinner.
After about three months, you would have lost a few pounds of fat reserves (aerobics) and gained a few pounds of muscle mass (weight training) so you could be the same weight but at least one size smaller (like one inch off all your measurements).
I actually did that, a few years ago. I went from 122.6 to 122.6 (haha) in three months with about 18 weight training sessions and some aerobics, no diet or counting my calories intake, I ate whatever I wanted (otherwise I would have lost much more) and still lost one inch on all my measurements, got thinner and lost 2% of my body fat percentage.

2009 Aug 13 1You can lose weight rapidly by using the special formula acai berry that Oprah and Rachel Ray used. I lost 47 pounds in 3 months! Check out my blog

2009 Aug 13 2What you are doing is very bad right now. It will probably take a long time to see results. You need to eat more, you are burning muscle instead of fat which is the opposite of what you want to do. Doing this will cause your body to lose pounds, but not any inches so you will look the same. Eat more and you will notice it in the 2nd month

2009 Aug 13 3Everyone sees results at different times. My suggestion would be Measure & weigh yourself weekly.
When Measuring yourself – Measure in the same spot every time. Weigh at the same day & time
Women usually lose more inches before they lose weight. Men on the other hand lose weight then they lose inches

2009 Aug 13 5Okay first of all don’t choose 1200 calories as some arbitrary number. Your caloric intaking should ALWAYS be tailored to you specifically. There’s a metabolism calculator I’m attaching below. Second, stop doing so much cardio. It’s boring, pretty inefficient, and you risk losing muscle instead of fat. Lift weights for God’s sake. And no, you won’t turn into the she-hulk. Unless you take anabolic steroids and inject HGH, you never have to worry about getting big as a girl.
As for seeing results it depends on how close an observer you are and how frequently you check yourself in the mirror. After a month you should start to notice the rolls on your stomach are smaller though. If you pose in front of the mirror every day, you will not notice as much progress. But only look in the mirror once a week and things will seem much faster.

Find your calorie requirements, subtract 500 calories, then eat that many calories per day. Combine this with strength training and aerobic exercise and you will lose weight and gain muscle mass (again, you won’t look like Ronnie Coleman).

2009 Aug 13 7This is true because most of the weight lost during a “starvation diet” is just water weight, and not real fat loss. You must remember that any “water weight” lost during a starvation diet will be gained back immediately when you stop dieting and start eating normally again. Also, whenever you starve yourself you cause a “hidden” factor to come into play…
You see, whenever you starve yourself your body will begin burning fewer calories each day. For instance, let’s say that you normally eat about 3,,000 calories per day…..But then you suddenly cut way back on calories — so that you’re now eating only 1,000 calories per day.
Guess what happens?
Even though you’re eating 2,000 fewer calories per day your body will begin burning 2,000 fewer calories per day – so in reality your weight will remain the same even though you’re eating 2,000 fewer calories per day.
When this happens the scale will stop going down regardless of how little you are eating each day, and this is known as a weight loss “plateau.” This is why most starvation dieters cannot make the scale go down anymore after just two weeks of dieting. They all hit a “plateau” where the scale just refuses to go down any further, no matter how little they are eating each day. Now you know why you’ve always failed when trying to starve yourself in the past, since it’s just not possible to lose weight by starving yourself. The truth is that “serious” weight loss can never be achieved by starvation dieting.
In 2005 i was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and I’m "very overweight" (250 pounds). The doctor said I should think about losing some weight and start to exercise. I’ve had three back surgeries since 2001, I used to be a size five. But then I blew up to an astonishing size 22. I’ve tried throwing up my food but that I could never succeed at it even though Ive tried a thousand times. I’ve try marking down everything I eat, took weight loss pills and exercising to burn the extra fat. You name it, i’ve tried it.
Finally, in April 2008 my best friend introduce me a new technique of weight loss program. At first i was a bit sceptical since i’ve been ripped off a few times. But after joining the program, I’ve lost 30 pounds in the first month and currently my weight is 120 pounds. The truth is our own metabolism system play a vital part in controlling the amount of body fat burned in the process of providing energy to the body. Knowledge about our own metabolism function is the mother to all weight loss programs. With the knowledge you not only reduce your weight but able to maintain an ideal weight and living a healthy life. Best of all you can eat what you most enjoyed without gaining any weight. The knowledge from the program is invaluable and i’m sure you won’t be regret. Btw the program is absolutely safe and you will enjoy it for life. You could find the link at the source below.
