I am a thirteen year old girl, and i need to lose weight (20-25 pounds) and keep it off as quickly as possible but i don't want to buy any fake "miracle weight loss products" or hire a personal trainer. What should i do?

Try to eat healthy, small portions every 2 hours so you matabolism will be running constantly to burn off what you eat. Also, drink 64 oz. of water daily (IMPORTANT) it's better to drink it during or after a meal.example..

breakfast- fruit
snack- anything under 150 calories
lunch- 4 oz. of meat, 1 cup veggies
snack- fruit
dinner- 4 oz meat, 1 cup veggies
snack- anything under 150 calories.

**Don't drink regular pop!!, if needed, drink diet!
**Try not to eat for 5 hours before you go to sleep
**Lower your salt intake, stay away from fried foods!

Also, try to get in some exercise! Even 15 minutes a day will make a big difference. Dance in your bedroom, go for a walk, anything will work!

- I've been on this diet for 2 months and have lost 30 lbs. Your only 13 years old so I would try to stick to something similar to this, that way your getting in healthy foods and not restricting yourself from anything that your body needs. Try to keep motivated! It's hard at first, but after the first week you will start noticing good results and it's simple from then on!! Also, I don't know how much you weigh, but try to stay at a helathy weight, don't try to lose too much! Check out a BMI chart to see what a healthy weight range is for your age and body type!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Weight loss became a nightmare for me until I tried out acai berry. I know they say that pills will not work, but they definitely worked for me, and they have been showcased on CBS News too. There's a free trial going on right now at http://nivakusn.haliq.com, why not try it , why not?

Truth is there is no fix. No matter what anyone tells you there is a simple basic rule, healthy eating and exercise. You are better to do something strong and gradual that you can maintain instead of a crash diet which will leave you binging and back to where you started.
Try working out or walking every day because if you need to loose 20-25 pounds it needs to be every day to have an effect. You are thirteen so you are still developing into an adult so take control of your lifestyle now and it will be easier later in life to lead a healthier lifestyle. If you are eating any junk food, pizza, burgers cut it out of your diet as the calories in these foods are ridiculous. A mars bar could take you 30mins to walk off……get my point?
    Good Luck !!

Jog in a pool!! If you have access to a pool, seriously, jogging in the pool is the absolutely BEST (and not to mention funnest) way to lose weight. It will be relatively easy, won't make you hot and sweaty, it helps you to burn fat more effectively than just about anything else because it involves BOTH cardio AND resistance at the same time, and it also will help you DEFINE some muscle after you've lost the weight. It's truly the most incredible exercise – especially for people who have some weight to lose. If you're going to do this, make sure you: get shoes made especially for use in water, try doing it to some music, try moving your arms back and forth a little as you jog, 'cause that helps you lose around your middle, know that for the first couple weeks your legs will feel a little heavier 'cause you're building muscle, and also know that after those few weeks you'll feel lighter than you have in years! Oh, but don't go too hard at it in the beginning 'cause you'll feel like you're not getting a ton of exercise, but it's deceptive 'cause it's fun. I only did 10 minutes a day to start, then moved to 15, and never went above 20, but I got to the point that the weight was just pouring off and my energy level soared! (I also did a little 10-minute workout on the side of the pool w/leg lifts and arm swirls – not hard, but it adds to muscle build, which adds to fat burn.) Truly, it'll give you so much energy and will take weight off efficiently and effectively. It's the most awesome exercise ever!!

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we've known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can't get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don't. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

Vary your routines. Don't eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn't adjust to any one routine.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don't eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you'll need added potassium). Keep your fat percentage high. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.

If you starve yourself, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn't get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn't slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.

Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.

High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.

Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

Try to include fibre content food in your daily eating system.
Swimming is the best way to burn calories. So, try swimming at least once in a week.
