What weight loss tips do you have?

My goal is to start working out tomorrow and I really only need to lose 30 pounds to be at a healthy weight. So my questions are:
1) What machines do you recomend and how long should I work out for on my first day?
2) How often should I up my work out time?
3) What foods should I avoid?
4) How long will it take roughly to lose 30 pounds?
5)I'm thinking that because I'm 23 and not really over weight it will be easy to lose 30 pounds or am I kidding myself?
5) Any other advice you have for me (a soon to be former couch potato) would be greatly accepted.
from memory, body 4 life recommends small meals, maybe 5 to 6 a day. only good carbs, like whole wheat bread, yogurt, bake potato's. good protein like fat-free cottage cheese, grilled or boiled chicken, tuna in water, all natural peanut butter, turkey meat. two or three portions of fruit and veggies a day.
the work out regimen was upper body one day, aerobic the next, lower body the next, aerobic the next for six days. one day off. it was five sets of weights in a progression format (i.e. 8lbs 10 times, 10 lbs 8 times, etc.), and interval aerobics. it is a good book. i never could stick with it to gain muscle. you can try reading dr.john berardi too. he seems like he knows what he is talking about in his newsletters and a book he co-authored.

2009 Feb 28 1I think drinking lots and lots of water is really important. That along with walking everyday will help you lose faster and easier than anything. Good Luck!

2009 Mar 01 3If it is not cool outside or dangerous avoid the machines for as long as you can. Walk one mile to start then increase it untill you walk at a good pace for 30 minutes. After, find a gym go the whole circuit for a whole body workout. Walk at a good pace use entire gym. Repeat. The key here is walking your miles one day then one time around the weights using just enough resistance too feel it but not stress your self yourself the next day. Ask back after thirty days of this. YES you are doing something every day. VEGES, Alchaline diet (look that up) you will lose five pounds AT LEAST

2009 Mar 01 41. use cardio equipment and weights at least 3 times a week, preferably 5. heart rate up for at least 20 minutes on cardio equipment. mix up the machines.
2. not so much time as intensity. do it when your heart rate starts going lower and you don't feel exhausted.
3. fried and fatty desserts. try to leave a bite left on your plate at all meals.
4. depends how overweight you are and how much you exercise and your caloric intake and your metabolism.
5. get into an exercise routine. then you will want to work out all the time.

2009 Mar 01 5This site has lots of tips. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. 2009 Mar 01 6One tip is to switch up your execises every so often. If you do the same ones your body will adapt and you might not see results for your goal. Eat fruits vegetables, whole grains, drop caffeine, sugar, white flour products. I know a former coworker that lost the same amount in about 2-3 months and he is about double your age so you can do it in the same timeframe. First day dont over do it maybe 30 min max. After a couple of weeks you might consider exercising twice a day. It will be work and I wish you luck!

2009 Mar 01 8There is only ONE way and ONE way only to lose weight, burn more calories than you consume.
So, this means you have to start paying attention to what you eat and what you do for activity. Think of it like a bank account. If you put in more than you take out, your balance (weight) increases. If you take out more than what you put in, your balance (weight) decreases.
You can eat ice cream for lunch every day if you also do something to burn more calories than you gained in eating the ice cream. So, in essence, you can eat ANYTHING you desire, so long as you burn off more calories than whatever you ate gave you.
The "diet" pills which claim to hve a great weight loss in a few days are pure hype. They work, yes, but because they cause a chemical imbalance in your body to lose water weight, something which makes people gain or lose many pounds in a day regardless of anything you eat or exercise you might do. Avoid a quick fix with a "diet" program and concentrate on the calories in and the calories out and make it such that you burn more than you consume and you WILL lose weight.
Doing the calorie in and calorie out is not the quick fix, but it is the ONLY way proven to work in the long term for being overweight.

2009 Mar 01 101.) You must regularly use a thread mill as you are very keen on loosing weight.
2.)you should work out twice a day, morning and evenings for about 20 – 30 minutes each.
3.) Avoid foods containing fat and carbohydrates (as it contains sugar)
4.) As 30 pounds is a great amount you may take a few months
5.) your age doesn't matter…if you will determine to loose weight you sure will
6.) Just take care and don't do excessive amount of exercise.

cut out on carbs and fats… eat lean protein a fist size.. ofcourse 3 times aday
do not eat after 6pm bcuz if u do that where the fat goes to urr bellyyy… and its gets jiggly
umm watelsee half a grapefruit in between every meal.. it burns off fat…
green tea does too..
i once heard on the news that if u drink 3litres of green tea without sugar for a month.. u can lose up tp 35pounds… anyway never tried it, but green tea was on oprah and u can actually lose so much weight!! from every inch of ur body

2009 Mar 01 13This summary details a major breakthrough in detoxifying the human body of the
carcinogens, heavy metals, viruses, bacteria, fungi, and overall acid conditions that
