You will actually burn more fat at around 30% of your V02 max.
And I’ve got the studies to prove it if you’re interested.

If done correctly, HIIT can burn more fat than a simply calorie deficit, and I have the studies to prove it if you’re interested.

2008 Dec 18 7Overtraining …
Overtraining leading to sacrifice of lean mass, since you haven’t considered your base metabolism. So I’m going to pull a number out of my , too: 1200. You ate 1500, burned 2000. Deficit = 1700. That’s a calculated loss of roughly three and a half pounds per week, uming you keep this up every day, which you didn’t specify one way or the other. That’s pretty conservative, though. This is basically the damage for a small woman. Increase the deficit from here for larger folks, and it’s worse.

fat can only be burned in aerobic excercise!! if u have a high intensity workout u need carbs and protein other wise it puts ur body into ketosis and actually causes u to break down lean tissue!!

2008 Dec 18 10carbs are much more …
carbs are much more complex and therefore are not burned as easily as fat and are used for energy storage. also, the amount of energy that is released from carbs is greater than fat. high muscle intensity workout releases lactic acid (that is the burn that’s felt) and keep oxygen (vital for creation and dispersion of energy through the body) will not be utilized. it is my opinion thar aerobic exerices are better.

jewel is right, carbs are burnt much easier than fat, thats why the carb diets work, they stop the carb buildup in your body, and your body is forced to go to the fat reserves.

2008 Dec 18 14Carbohydrate and …
Carbohydrate and protein are going to be the main sources of energy since mainly using the ATP-phosphocreatine and lactic acid energy systems. Fat needs oxygen in order to be oxidized. True, you may be burning some fat however, you will burn the most with medium intensity workouts at about 65% VO2 max.

2008 Dec 18 15Thats entirely …
Thats entirely fictitious. Fat is broken down anytime an energy deficit needs to be filled. If I eat 1500 calories in my day, but burn 2,000 calories exclusively from resistance training, what do you thinks gonna happen?

Fat can only be broken down aerobically (meaning low to moderate intensity activity). Fat will actually be inhibited from being broken down when doing resistance training because it is an anaerobic process.
