How can i lose fat without losing muscle?
02 Oct 2009
I lift weights and stuff so i dont want to lose my muscle while running and stuff. How i can i lose fat, but keep my muscle/ gain more muscle at same time?
Not with Acai Berry. lol. It is all a matter of nitrogen balance. Nitrogen balance is an indicator of muscular anabolism. A positive nitrogen balance means that you are in an anabolic state (building muscle), while a negative nitrogen balance means that you are in a catabolic state (breaking down tissue). Protein is made up of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, and of course Nitrogen. Dietary protein intake is what influences nitrogen balance. Regular protein intake = positive balance = anabolism. So, maintaining your current workout plan will be fine, just make sure that your protein intake is adequate enough to maintain anabolism. This is estimated to be about 1.2 g of protein per kg of bodyweight daily. Increasing dietary complex carbohydrate helps as well. It provides an abundance of quality fuel, therefore skeletal muscle protein breakdown will be minimized for metabolic purposes.

Lots of cardio and a good weight training plan
Fat turns into muscle
So it depends on if you want to bulk up or build lean strong muscles

2009 Oct 02 5There is so much misinformation out there. Running and doing cardio does not make the body lose muscle… As long as you hydrate and consume food with protein, running actually makes the muscles get bigger in the legs and shoulders.
